Project Summary: The aim of this project is to design and synthesize hybrid nanoparticles comprising a biopolymer shell and a solid lipid core for hosting lipophilic anticancer drugs. The aim is to obtain hybrid nanoparticles without using surfactants by favoring stabilizator effect of biopolymer conjugates formed by protein-polysacharride materials. The physicochemical, morphological characterization of the resulting nanoparticles will be formed using advanced colloidal and material characterization techniques. Drug encapsulation and further in vitro drug release studies by the trigger of enyzmes at varied pH conditions will be investigated.
